Special Sanctuary! A wonderful little resort on the Nam Phak river and highly recommended for a break from touring around Laos. Other TripAdvisor reviews cover the most salient points - very comfortable, very attentive service, excellent food (unbelievable given the remoteness).

Extend your stay. Whatever you have planned, add a day or two more to this stay. It is utterly fabulous.

You really feel special here. From the moment you arrive you really feel special here. The entire team is amazing and nothing is ever too much. The rooms are perfect and have and the surroundings are beautiful, the infinity pool over the bridge is just what you need after a long drive and hike. 

Just perfect! This is a fabulous resort. With only ten rooms, everyone is committed to ensuring that guests enjoy a wonderful stay. Our superior room overlooking the river was beautiful and we went to sleep listening to the sound of the water.

Seamlessly sink into natural comfort in your remote environment. Muang La feels like it was always part of its lush, natural, relaxing environment. It is peaceful, tranquil, comfortable and somehow makes you feel like you are the center of its focus.

Splendid stay. We stayed here for just two nights during an overland trip from Hanoi to Luang Prabang and we wish we had stayed longer. From the moment one is met at the gate by the manager you know this is a special place to stay.

Small boutique hotel located on the river. Location is fantastic, rooms spacious and luxurious and food was great. Visited the spa and that was lovely experience. Close walk to the Buddhist temple and the village market. Don't miss staying at this property if your travel take you to Laos.

Magical place. Stayed for 5 days at the beginning of April. The lodge and rooms are gorgeous. There’s a great swimming pool on an island in the river with attentive bar person serving snacks and drinks. Loved our riverside room.

While first impressions are important! Muang La has so many other charms that half would have been sufficient. Our room on the second floor with balcony and river view was perfect. The food is just "out of this world" and they have the service to back it up.

Relaxing retreat in a stunning location. Great rooms and delicious food. Muang La has many surprising and different aspects to it, from the lovely pool situated on an island in the middle of the river accessed by a bamboo bridge, to the rooftop hot springs. The 5 course tasting menu each night was a real highlight and there were many little touches that made our stay there so special.
