Our Lodge
THE SALA
Cross the small suspension bridge, and you will find our Sala and our swimming pool on the island, formed by the currents of the Nam Pak River.
A traditional building, a “sala” is a pavilion without walls and with a roof supported on pillars of wood or bamboo. Orginally shelters for travellers to rest or pass the night, salas can be found in the countryside, rice fields, on the banks of rivers and close to temples.
Our sala in the river
On the river bank, the gate opens to the pretty bridge of rope and bamboo which crosses the river to our private island, and where we built our swimming pool and sala.
At 4m high, our Sala was designed and built to provide an uninterrupted view of the Nam Pak River… children playing in the shallow waters, villagers taking a refreshing bath, buffalo, goats and the traditional salt fields that are still in use today.
Our Sala is the perfect place to take lunch, enjoy a herbal tea, a massage or share an aperitif. But it comes into its own at sunset, adorned with lanterns and candles, and bathing in the warm colours of the setting sun.
An unforgettable setting for a romantic dinner orchestrated by your private butler who attends to your every need. (please reserve in advance).
A few metres from our Sala, is our infinity swimming pool nestled in a secluded corner of the island. Surrounded by the trees and lush vegetation, you can enjoy an envigorating swim or just relax in the tranquility of our island.
